We publish comparisons and explanations to help you decide. We do not give advice, we do not lend, and we do not control the products we describe. This page sets out, in plain language, exactly how everything on the site should — and should not — be read.

Disclaimer in full

Written to be read, not to hide behind. Read alongside our Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy, which it forms part of.

1. Who we are and what this disclaimer covers

YouBankingBuddy.com (“YouBankingBuddy”, “we”, “us”) is a banking and financial-product comparison and lead-generation platform owned and operated by Catalyst Web Trendz Pvt. Ltd., D 29, 2nd Floor, Greater Kailash Enclave 2, Greater Kailash, New Delhi – 110048, India. This disclaimer applies to the whole of www.youbankingbuddy.com — every comparison table, article, rate, calculator, illustration and form — and to any conversation you have with our team by telephone, email or WhatsApp.

We are not a bank, a non-banking financial company (NBFC), a housing finance company, a broker, a SEBI-registered investment adviser or research analyst, or an IRDAI-licensed insurance agent, broker or web aggregator. We do not lend, accept deposits, underwrite risk, hold client money, issue any product or manage investments. We compare and explain; where you ask us to, we introduce your enquiry to a partner institution. Every product contract is between you and that institution alone.

This disclaimer is issued in compliance with the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the rules made under it, the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 and the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020, and the applicable advertising and disclosure norms of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) and the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI) to the extent they bear on comparison content.

2. Not financial, investment, tax or legal advice

Nothing on this platform is financial, investment, tax, accounting or legal advice, and nothing on it is a personal recommendation. All content is general information prepared by our research desk and addressed to the public at large. It takes no account of your particular objectives, financial situation, risk appetite, tax position or needs, and it must not be treated as a substitute for professional advice tailored to your circumstances.

Before you act, please take independent advice from a suitably qualified and, where relevant, registered professional:

  • for investments, a SEBI-registered investment adviser;
  • for tax, a chartered accountant or qualified tax adviser;
  • for legal questions, a qualified lawyer;
  • for a specific loan, card, deposit or policy, the institution offering it.

Any decision you take on the basis of information on this platform is taken on your own judgement and at your own risk. Our team members — whom we call buddies — explain products and help you compare; they are not authorised to advise you on the suitability of any product, to recommend a scheme, or to promise a rate, a return or an approval.

3. Rates, fees and eligibility are indicative and dated

Every interest rate, processing fee, charge, premium, reward rate, minimum balance and eligibility criterion shown on the platform is indicative. Figures are compiled by our research desk from schedules published by the institutions concerned and from information supplied by our partners, and are stated as on the source date shown alongside them — presently across the site.

  • Rates change, sometimes daily, and always without notice to us. The figure you see may already be out of date.
  • The rate you are actually offered depends on your credit score, income, employer category, loan-to-value, tenure, existing relationship and the institution's prevailing policy. Headline rates are typically the lowest offered to the strongest profile, not an average.
  • Taxes, statutory charges, insurance and documentation costs may apply in addition to the figures shown.
  • Where our figures differ from an institution's own published terms, the institution's terms prevail — always. Verify before you act.

Nothing on the platform is an offer, an invitation to offer, a sanction, a pre-approval, a quotation or a commitment by us or by any institution.

4. Calculators and estimates

Our EMI, SIP, compound and simple interest, fixed-deposit, recurring-deposit and loan-eligibility calculators are educational tools. They run entirely inside your browser, store nothing and transmit nothing. Each applies a standard formula to the figures and assumed rates you enter, and each deliberately ignores real-world variables such as processing fees, insurance, statutory levies, prepayment, floating-rate resets, exit loads, expense ratios and taxation.

A calculator output is an illustrative estimate, not an offer, a quotation, a sanction or a projection of actual returns. The eligibility checker applies a standard Fixed Obligation to Income Ratio (FOIR) assumption to numbers you type in; it does not contact a lender or a credit bureau and it does not affect your credit score. Amortisation schedules shown are worked illustrations; a lender's own schedule may round differently and will add charges. We accept no liability for a decision taken solely on a calculator output — ask the institution for a formal illustration or amortisation statement before you commit.

5. Investments and market risk

Content about mutual funds, SIPs, index funds, ELSS, the National Pension System and other market-linked products is educational and general. It is not investment advice, not a recommendation of any scheme, and not a solicitation to buy or sell any security.

Market risk Mutual fund investments are subject to market risk. Read all scheme-related documents carefully. The value of market-linked investments can go down as well as up, and you may get back less than you invested. Any projection on this site is an illustration at an assumed constant rate, not a promised or guaranteed return. Past performance is not indicative of, and does not guarantee, future results. Assumed rates of return used in our tools and articles are our research desk's illustrations, not forecasts. Before investing, consult a SEBI-registered investment adviser and read the Scheme Information Document, Key Information Memorandum and Statement of Additional Information of the relevant scheme.

6. Insurance

Insurance content — term life, health, motor and other cover — is a general comparison and explanation only, and is not insurance advice or a solicitation to buy any policy. Whether a claim is admitted, and the cover you actually receive, is decided entirely by the insurer under the terms, conditions, exclusions, waiting periods, sub-limits and underwriting of the specific policy you buy. Premiums are indicative and are subject to the insurer's underwriting, your age, health and disclosures. Claim settlement ratios and similar figures are drawn from published sources, relate to past periods, and do not predict how any individual claim will be treated. Insurance is the subject matter of solicitation; read the policy wording and the prospectus before you buy, and disclose all material facts, because non-disclosure can void a claim.

7. Loans, credit cards and approvals

We are not a lender and we do not sanction, approve, price, disburse, restructure or recover any loan or credit card. The decision to lend, the amount, the interest rate, the fees and the timeline are entirely and solely at the lender's discretion, taken under its own credit, underwriting and Know Your Customer policies. A referral through this platform is not an application, and an application is never an approval.

We do not, and cannot, promise “guaranteed approval”, “instant approval”, “pre-approved” sanction, or any particular rate or limit. Where a lender describes an offer as pre-approved or instant, that is the lender's representation under its own terms, not ours. Borrowing has consequences: a missed EMI affects your credit score, and revolving a credit card balance is expensive. We are happy to tell you not to borrow.

8. Deposits and taxation

Fixed-deposit, recurring-deposit and savings content is general information. Deposit rates are indicative and set by the bank, and premature withdrawal usually attracts a penalty and a lower effective rate. Interest earned on deposits is taxable as income in your hands, and tax deducted at source (TDS) may apply — generally where interest exceeds ₹40,000 in a financial year (₹50,000 for senior citizens), subject to prevailing law. Bank deposits are insured by the Deposit Insurance and Credit Guarantee Corporation (DICGC) up to ₹5 lakh per depositor per bank. Tax treatment depends on your individual circumstances and may change; consult a tax professional.

9. Editorial independence and how we are paid

This is the disclosure that protects your trust, so it is stated in full.

We do not charge you. Use of the platform, its comparisons and its calculators is free to the consumer. We are paid by partner institutions: where an enquiry we refer results in a completed application that is sanctioned or disbursed, or a policy that is issued, the partner pays us a referral or marketing fee, generally on a flat per-case basis. Some partners additionally pay a fixed monthly fee for listing and content maintenance.

Three safeguards govern that arrangement, and we hold ourselves to them publicly:

  • Rankings are editorial. Comparison tables are ordered by the objective attribute named in the column header — interest rate, fee, minimum balance, cover amount — and never by what a partner pays us. Commission is not an input to any sort, filter or default order.
  • The fee is flat within a product family. Because the fee we receive on a given product is the same across participating partners, we have no commercial incentive to steer you towards one institution over another.
  • Paid placement is labelled. Anything sponsored, promoted or a paid feature carries a visible label. If it is not labelled, nobody paid for it.

Being paid a commission does not make a product suitable for you, and the presence of a partner in a comparison is not an endorsement or a recommendation. Not every institution we compare is a commercial partner; we include non-partner products for completeness where we can source reliable public information. The same disclosure appears on our About Us and FAQ pages and in the standing disclosure in the footer of every page.

10. Accuracy and currency of third-party data

We take reasonable care to compile accurate, current information, and our research desk reviews the figures periodically. Nonetheless the platform reproduces a large volume of data drawn from institutions, regulators and other third parties, and we cannot warrant that every figure is accurate, complete or up to date at the moment you read it. Rates and terms change constantly and errors can occur. The platform and its content are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of accuracy, completeness, currency, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. If you spot an error, please tell us and we will correct it; meanwhile, verify any figure with the institution before you rely on it.

11. Trademarks and no affiliation

The names of banks, NBFCs, insurers, asset management companies, credit bureaus and card networks are used on this platform purely descriptively, to identify the products being compared and explained. All such names, logos and marks are the property of their respective owners. We do not display third-party logos or brand artwork; the crests shown on our comparison tables are neutral shapes authored by us and are not the marks of any institution.

Their use does not imply any affiliation, association, sponsorship, partnership or endorsement between that owner and YouBankingBuddy, unless we have expressly stated that an institution is a partner. Equally, references to the RBI, SEBI, IRDAI, DICGC, NPCI or any other authority are for information only and do not imply any regulatory affiliation, approval or endorsement; regulator marks shown anywhere on the site are represented as neutral glyphs.

12. Third-party links and websites

The platform links to bank, NBFC, insurer, AMC, regulator and news websites. Those sites are not under our control. We do not endorse, verify or accept responsibility for their content, accuracy, security, availability, cookies or the products they sell, and following such a link is at your own risk. Read the destination site's own terms and privacy policy before submitting anything to it, particularly before you upload identity documents or bank statements. A link is provided for convenience and is not a recommendation of the linked site or its products.

13. Forward-looking statements and no guaranteed outcome

Some content — rate outlooks, projections, illustrations and commentary on where the market or interest rates may head — is inherently forward-looking. Such statements reflect our research desk's view at the time of writing, rest on assumptions that may not hold, and are not forecasts, promises or guarantees. Actual outcomes will differ. We do not guarantee any return, saving, approval, sanction, rate, timeline or other outcome, and we do not use words such as “guaranteed returns”, “assured returns” or “guaranteed approval” to describe any product. Where an institution uses such language, that is its representation under its own terms, and you should verify it directly.

14. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by Indian law, YouBankingBuddy and Catalyst Web Trendz Pvt. Ltd., and their directors, officers, employees and contractors, accept no liability for any loss or damage — direct or indirect, incidental, special or consequential, including loss of profit, savings, opportunity or data — arising from your use of, or reliance on, the platform or its content, or from any decision to apply for, accept, decline or exit a financial product. This section is subject to, and read together with, the fuller limitation of liability in section 16 of our Terms & Conditions. Nothing here excludes any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for fraud, or any right you hold as a consumer under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 that cannot be waived.

15. Grievance Officer and escalation

If you believe any content on this platform is inaccurate, misleading or unlawful, or you have a concern about this disclaimer, please write to our Grievance Officer, appointed under rule 3(2) of the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021 and section 13 of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

  • Grievance Officer — YouBankingBuddy, c/o Catalyst Web Trendz Pvt. Ltd. [Name of the officer to be inserted by the company before publication.]
  • Address — D 29, 2nd Floor, Greater Kailash Enclave 2, Greater Kailash, New Delhi – 110048
  • Emailinfo@catalystwebtrendz.com
  • Phone and WhatsApp+91-9953590779 / wa.me/919953590779
  • Hours — Monday–Friday, 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM IST

We acknowledge every grievance within 24 hours of receipt and dispose of it within 15 days, as those rules require. A complaint about a loan, card, policy or investment itself must be raised with the institution concerned; escalation from there lies to the RBI Integrated Ombudsman, the IRDAI Bima Bharosa portal or SEBI SCORES, as the case may be, and we will point you to the right one. The courts at New Delhi have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from this disclaimer.

16. Changes to this disclaimer

We revise this disclaimer when the law changes, when a regulator updates its disclosure norms, or when our content or service changes. The “last updated” date at the top always reflects the version in force. Material changes are announced on the site and in The Money Memo at least 14 days before they take effect. Continuing to use the platform after a change takes effect means you accept the revised disclaimer.

Section 9, in short

Paid by partners, answerable to readers

The platform is free to you. Here is how the money works, and the three rules that keep it from touching the rankings.

Rankings are editorial

Tables sort by the objective attribute in the column header — rate, fee, cover — never by what a partner pays us. Commission is not an input to any sort.

Flat fee within a family

The fee we receive on a given product is the same across partners, so we have no incentive to steer you to one institution over another.

Paid placement is labelled

Anything sponsored or promoted carries a visible label. If it is not labelled, nobody paid for it. A commission never makes a product suitable for you.

Questions about our independence go to the same desk as everything else: info@catalystwebtrendz.com · +91-9953590779 · Monday–Friday, 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM IST.
